Naked Nutrition Naked Sugar Cookie & Pumpkin Spice Pea Protein Shake Review

Oops, I did it again…

I’ve got some more opinions on products from Naked Nutrition – the high-quality, clean, and delicious supplement brand that I’ve covered before on here.

But today, things get a little crazy.

I got to try a new flavor of their Pea Protein – Pumpkin Spice – and a new product, their Naked Cookie (Sugar Cookie flavor).

Let’s just say I’m a fan of both.

What type of protein is best for me?

This product review article is covering two products: one with whey protein (the Naked Cookie) and one with pea protein (the Pumpkin Spice Protein Shake).

A common question from new supplementers is “what type of protein should I use?”

That answer is different for everyone.

This article compares whey, casein and collagen proteins as animal-derived sources, and compares the pros, cons, and uses of each one.

Since pea protein isn’t included in it, I wanted to elaborate a bit on some reasons why you might want to use pea protein instead of these others:

1.     If you’re vegan or prefer plant-based options

2.     Pea protein seems to digest better for you

3.     You enjoy the texture / flavor

4.     It’s higher quality than soy

5.     There is a little bit of natural fiber in pea protein

Numbers 1-3 seem like no-brainers.

Simply having preferences is okay and encouraged in your health journey!

Why try to stick to a plan if you don’t like or even disagree with it?

If you’re still on the fence about which protein to try, allow me to use numbers 4-5 to talk you into testing pea protein for yourself.

First, if you’re bent on using a plant-based protein, I urge you to choose pea over soy.

Pea protein is less likely to cause you hormonal distress or flares (soy naturally has xenoestrogens, which can cause hormone imbalance in both men and women) and my experience is that it’s much easier to digest.

Let’s just say the bloating difference is huge between soy and pea protein for me.

And second, there’s a decent amount of resistant starch in pea protein naturally, which helps to reduce hunger, cut body fat, and improve digestion

Now that that’s clarified a little bit…let’s get into these fun new products.

Naked Nutrition Naked Cookie Review (Sugar Cookie Flavor)

Have you been noticing the latest protein trend is creeping into cookies, pizzas, chips?

The protein giants of a few years ago are expanding their inventory to make snacking better for bodybuilding.

And I am personally here for it.

When I found out about the new Naked Cookies from Naked Nutrition, I was stoked.

The products from Naked Nutrition I’d already tried were delicious and effective and I just had a feeling that snacks wouldn’t be a far reach for them.

I’m happy to report that my gut feeling was right!

The Sugar Cookie flavor of the Naked Cookie truly takes me back to the sugar cookies I used to eat at the mall as a kid.

They’re soft, tasty, and they even have little sprinkles to add that texture!

As far as the nutrition in these cookies is concerned, I think it’s about as good as you can get.

Naked Nutrition Pumpkin Spice Pea Protein Review

I’m not going to lie; I was a little hesitant to try this at first.

I mentioned it in the YouTube video, but oftentimes protein companies get carried away with the amount of flavor they add to certain protein powders…especially “fancier” flavors, like pumpkin spice.

But, when I made myself and my roommate a glass each of this pea protein after a workout…I was annoyed I didn’t get to trying it sooner!

I should have known the texture for this pea protein would be similar to Naked Nutrition’s classic vanilla mix, but I’m glad I was quickly reminded why I love this brand so much.

The texture of this brand of protein has always been impressive to me. Naked Nutrition really goes above and beyond when it comes to how fine they grind their blends.

This protein mixes in easily with both almond milk and water, and it froths well with a milk frother or immersion blender.

The flavor is just right – it’s light, fun, and not overwhelming.

It truly feels like a treat drinking this protein powder and it’s the perfect post-workout snack or morning protein to kick off a successful day.
